What is Morpheus 8?

Morpheus 8 functions as a fractional microneedle radiofrequency (RF) device with the capability to access multiple skin depths. Through its multipolar, stacking RF delivery system, it is designed to target deep tissue layers, fostering robust stimulation to improve your skin tone, texture, and overall appearance.

Difference between Morpheus 8 & Dermal Laser

Morpheus 8 (Micro-needle RF) and fractional dermal lasers are both advanced aesthetic treatments, but they differ in their technology and how they target skin concerns.

Morpheus 8 (Micro-needle RF) delivers RF energy through microneedles, creating micro-injuries and heating much deeper skin layers to boost collagen and tighten skin at greater skin depths than most other technologies. Fractional  Laser treatments, using focused light beams, address specific skin concerns at more superficial skin depths with different laser types to treat acne scars, and improve skin texture and rejuvenation but are not able to do deep skin tissue remodeling (essential for longer lasting and more significant results).

The Morpheus 8, unlike lasers, delivers minimal heat to the skin’s surface, focusing intense heat precisely at each needle’s tip. This targeted approach bypasses upper skin layers, reducing damage to the epidermis, minimizing downtime, and lowering the risk of complications compared to dermal lasers. This is also the reason why fractional lasers are not able to reach the deepest layers of the skin compared to Morpheus 8 as they will have increased risks of complications at that depth.

What does Morpheus 8 treat?

Wrinkles and Fine Lines: Morpheus 8 encourages the production of collagen and elastin, aiding in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly targeting areas like the eyes, mouth, and forehead. This stimulation of essential proteins in the skin helps in achieving a smoother and more youthful appearance in these specific facial regions.

Skin Texture Irregularities: Morpheus 8 helps improve skin texture, including roughness, uneven skin tone, and large pores by deep tissue remodeling to support essential skin support systems.

Acne Scars: Acne scars are addressed through Morpheus 8 by promoting collagen remodeling within the scarred regions, reducing their visible appearance, It also helps to break down stubborn acne fibers with heat energy, permanently improving the acne scar appearance.

Skin Laxity: The treatment can tighten loose or sagging skin, particularly in areas like the upper face, jawline, jowls, and abdominal skin.

Stretch Marks: Morpheus 8 helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production in the affected areas and improving the laxity of the skin.

Double Chin & Heavy Jowl Fats: Morpheus 8 utilizes not just fractional needling RF, but because it can reach greater depths, it can also achieve excellent subdermal adipose remodeling to help reduce fats in unwanted areas whilst tightening the skin as well.

FAQ

The treatment is typically manageable, with an initial application of numbing cream 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure to ensure comfort throughout. These measures will be greatly supplemented by a specially purposed cryo machine which blows icy air on the skin surface to numb the area to maximize comfort as well as to cool the skin surface to minimize downtime

A Morpheus 8 session duration can vary depending on the treated area and the specific treatment plan. Typically, a single session may take between 15 minutes to 1 hour. Smaller areas might require less time, while larger or multiple areas might take longer. Your healthcare provider can give you a more precise estimate based on your treatment goals and the areas being targeted.

The downtime after Morpheus 8 treatment is generally minimal for most people. You might experience mild redness, swelling, or minor skin sensitivity immediately after the session, which typically subsides within a few days. Makeup can usually be applied shortly after the treatment to cover any residual redness. However, downtime can vary depending on the intensity of the treatment, individual skin sensitivity, and the specific areas treated. It’s advisable to follow post-treatment instructions provided by your healthcare provider to optimize healing and minimize any discomfort.

Morpheus 8 helps in treating various scars by promoting collagen production and skin remodeling, but combining it with other treatments might be recommended for optimal results based on scar type and personal expectations. We do recommend you to consult with Dr.Zhang so he can assess the condition of your scar before providing you with an ideal treatment plan.

The effects of Morpheus 8 can be considered permanent in terms of acne scars and stretch marks improvement. It can also provide long-lasting improvements in skin quality, although factors like aging and environmental influences can impact the longevity of results.
